The British High Commission in India is preparing to grant 3,000 visas through its India Young Professionals Scheme using a ballot system, starting this Tuesday. They announced, “Less than 24 hours until the inaugural ballot of the #IndiaYoungProfessionalsScheme! Indian graduates aspiring to live, work, or study in the UK for up to 2 years can participate in the ballot for a visa application opportunity.”

In New Delhi, the British High Commission in India is preparing to offer 3,000 visas via its India Young Professionals Scheme, employing a ballot system scheduled to begin on Tuesday.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, the British High Commission in India has posted information regarding the inaugural ballot.

The announcement stated: “Less than 24 hours until the opening of the first ballot for the #IndiaYoungProfessionalsScheme! If you’re an Indian graduate seeking to live, work, or study in the United Kingdom for up to 2 years, you have the opportunity to participate in the ballot for a chance to apply for a visa.”

“In 2024, there are 3,000 spots open for the India Young Professionals Scheme visa.”

According to the UK Government website, the majority of slots will be allocated in the February ballot, with the remainder available in the July round.

Essential Application Information for the UK’s India Young Professionals

Candidates will have a two-day window to apply, as the ballot opens from 2:30 pm on February 20, 2024, to 2:30 pm on February 22, 2024.

It’s worth highlighting that there is no charge for participating in the ballot.

Eligible Indian citizens seeking to participate in the ballot must submit their name, date of birth, passport information, a scanned or photographed copy of their passport, contact phone number, and email address.

Ensuring that all applicants meet the financial, educational, and other criteria is crucial for visa application eligibility.

Successful entries

Winning entries will be chosen at random from the ballot, and applicants will receive notification of the results via email within two weeks of the ballot closing.

Upon selection, applicants will have a 90-day window to submit their visa application online. This process will entail paying the visa application fee, which includes the immigration health surcharge, and providing biometric information.

If chosen in the ballot but opting not to apply for the visa, there is no requirement to inform them.

The visa fee amounts to £298.

Unsuccessful entries 

The results of the ballot are conclusive. There is no avenue for appeal if unsuccessful, but individuals can participate in future ballots.
