Iran introduced a visa-waiver initiative for Indian tourists arriving by air in New Delhi on Tuesday, enhancing travel convenience. Effective February 4, Indian citizens can enjoy visa-free entry into the country, as announced by the Iranian embassy, with adherence to four specified conditions.
Indian tourists can now travel to Iran for up to 15 days without needing a visa, subject to four specified conditions.
Four Qualifying Conditions for Visa-Free Travel to Iran
- Citizens of India with standard passports can enter the country visa-free once every six months, with a maximum stay of 15 days. Extension of this 15-day stay period is not permitted.
- The visa exemption pertains solely to individuals visiting Iran for tourism.
- Indian nationals who intend to extend their stay or make multiple entries within a six-month timeframe must acquire the appropriate visas.
- The visa waiver described in this approval pertains specifically to Indian citizens arriving via air travel.

Iran has introduced a new visa-waiver program encompassing 33 countries. Among the nations included are India, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Mauritania, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Seychelles, Indonesia, Brunei, Japan, Singapore, Cambodia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Brazil, Peru, Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, and Belarus are the countries included.
